Ex Super Eagles Striker, Daniel Amokachi popularly known As The “Bull” has been appointed as the Special Assistant on Sports to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The appointment was issued on Monday, August 17, 2020 and signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
It reads: “I am pleased to inform you that Mohammadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has approved your appointment as Special Assistant on Sports. The appointment takes effect from the 11th of August, 2020,
Amokachi, Super Eagles player represented Nigeria at the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and FIFA World Cup. He managed Nigerian club Nasarawa United and Enyimba Aba.
He was the Super Eagles assistant coach to Shuaibu Amodu and Stephen Keshi.
Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmad also confirmed Amokachi appointment on Twitter. He wrote; “President @MBuhari has appointed former Super Eagles striker and Nigerian Football Ambassador, Daniel Amokachi as the Special Assistant on Sports.”
