Larynzo Johnson has been identified as the suspect who was arrested in the shooting of two Lousiville police officers.
Johnson was charged with wanton endangerment and assault of a police officer, WLKY said.
The cops were shot at about 8:30 p.m. when they were notified of a large crowd gathering near South Brook and East College streets, according to the news outlet.
They suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Robert Schroeder, the LMPD’s interim police chief.
One of the cops was shot in the abdomen, below his bulletproof vest, and was rushed to surgery, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported, citing sources. The second officer was hit in the thigh, the paper said.
The FBI’s office in Louisville was seeking the public’s help in their investigation of the shooting during protests over a grand jury decision in the Breonna Taylor case. Nypost reported.
