Lightning strike 15 cows to death in Ekiti

Lightning struck 15 cows to death on Saturday evening at Ikogosi in Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State. The cattle were killed at the Ikogosi Warm Spring site, a popular  tourism and recreational centre where warm and cold streams meet along Ipole-Ekiti. The lightning occurred during a torrential downpour between 4pm and 6:02pm. The Asaoye of Ikogosi-Ekiti, Chief Ayo Ademilua, confirmed the incident on Sunday. "The whole town shook when the thunder struck. Later, some commuters coming into town and those returning home from their farms saw Fulani herders lamenting that it was the lightning that killed their cattle,” he added. Bus Crushes Three Pupils In Ekiti

Tears flowed freely through the eyes of passers-by in Ado Ekiti on Friday, as a mini-bus fondly called ‘Akoto’ killed three pupils in the Ekiti State capital . The incident occurred on the day the primary and secondary school students vacated for Christmas and new year’s festivities across the state. The incident happened at about 2.30 pm at Ilokun, a farmstead along Ado -Iworoko road . An eyewitness reliably confirmed to DAILY POST that the pupils were returning from school and were about crossing the Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki highway when the vehicle, which was coming from Ekiti State University (EKSU) ran into them.
