Kaduna: Castration approved as punishment for rapists

The Kaduna State House of Assembly has approved castration as punishment for rape. "A bill to amend the Kaduna State Penal Court Law No.5 of 2017 has yesterday 09/09/2020 been pass into Law by @Kadlegislature", Majority Leader KSHA said in a Tweet. This follows the passage of a bill to amend the Kaduna state penal court law, 2017, by the lawmakers. The assembly, which announced the development via its Twitter handle yesterday, said the bill was passed into law on Wednesday. 4 Armed Bandits Killed In Kaduna, Arms Recovered (Photos)

The Operation Accord have killed 4 armed bandits at Jeka Da Rabi area along Kaduna-Abuja expressway. In a statement by the Coordinator of Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche says the operation took place on Wednesday 2 September 2020. Acting on credible intelligence on the movement of bandits from Kachia area , troops swiftly mobilized to the scene and laid ambush. The gallant troops made contact with the bandits and engaged them with superior firepower thereby neutralizing 4 while others escaped with gun shots wounds. Troops also recovered one AK 47 rifle and 5 rounds of 9mm with a magazine. The gallant troops have continued to dominate the general area with aggressive patrols in search of the fleeing bandits. “Chisos We Need Giveaways” – Reactions As Kaduna Extends Lockdown By 30 days

The Kaduna State government has extended the quarantine order in the state by 30 days and Nigerians are not happy with it. This was confirmed in a statement released by Governor Nasir El-Rufai's spokesperson, Muyiwa Adekeye. The Kaduna state Governor stated that only Wednesdays will be lockdown-free, until the trajectory of Coronavirus infections becomes clearer. Residents of the state have been directed to wear facemasks and observe social distancing everywhere they go. Coronavirus Patient Who Attempted To Escape In Kaduna Captured

A coronavirus patient who attempted to escape from the isolation centre, Infectious Disease Control Center, Down Quarters, Kaduna South has been captured by NSCDC officers on duty. According to the Media Assistant to the Commandant General Ekunola Gbenga, the COVlD-19 patient tried to leave the centre for morning prayers without the permission of doctors. A fight ensued between the NSCDC officers who tried to stop him from meaving the center. The fleeing patient is said to have forcefully taken the entrance key to the isolation centre, and tried to open the gate to escape, but was later overpowered by the NSCDC officers. Barely 24 hours after Nasir El-Rufai declared that kidnappers terrorising the state have been brought under control, a pregnant woman identified as Mrs. Okeke and two minors have been reportedly abducted by gunmen in Juji, Chikun Local Government Area of the state. Governor Nasir El-Rufai, had on Thursday, while being interviewed by newsmen in Kaduna at the federal and state administrators meeting, declared that kidnappers terrorising the state had been tamed. The gunmen, numbering about 20 were said to have arrived the community at about 1:00 am on Friday and started shooting sporadically in the air.
