90 Percent Applicants To Teach In Secondary Schools Fail CBT Exam In Oyo

10 percent of applicants who sat for CBT exams scored above 50 percent in Oyo State. The chairman of Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, Akinade Alamu has revealed that only 10 percent of applicants who sat for the CBT examinations to recruit new post-primary school teachers in the state scored above fifty percent. Alamu revealed this on Monday while speaking on the release of the result by the commission. Recall that the result of those who sat for the test was released on August 29. Speaking further, Alamu lamented that the TESCOM board is confused about how to carry out the recruitment exercise due to the poor performance of applicants. A trader identified as Emmanuel Egbu has been arrested in Oyo State for allegedly eating human feaces and bread in his shop in the Sango area of Ibadan. This happened on Saturday, August 22. Egbu, who has a shop where he sells Brazilian hair, was said to have been caught eating human feces and bread. Those who caught him in the act, were said to have raised the alarm, which attracted a huge crowd. Ibadan Serial Killer, Sunday Shodipe Has Been Caught and Re-arrested

Suspected serial killer in Oyo State, Sunday Shodipe, who recently escaped from police custody has been caught and re-arrested. Sunday Shodipe was declared wanted by the Police after his illegal escape from Police custody on August 11. The spokesperson of the state police command, SP. Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed his rearrest to newsmen this afternoon Sunday, August 23.  Shodipe was re-arrested at his grandma’s place at the Ojoo area of Ibadan and is currently being detained at the Eleyele police station. The police had earlier announced a N500,000 bounty for useful information that can lead to the re-arrest of the suspect.

Samuel Afolabi: Oldest King In Oyo State Dies at 141

The oldest king in Oyo State, Oba Afolabi, the Onilua of Ilua, is dead .According to reports, the monarch passed on in the early hours of Saturday after a brief illness. The late monarch was born to the Afolabi family in Ilua, in 1879 and was king 38 years ago at the age of 102. The late monarch, who was a commercial farmer at Arigidana, Baba Ode in Itesiwaju Local Government of the state before his coronation as king, succeeded Oba Majaro in 1981. Oba Samuel Durodola Afolabi II died at age 141 years old.

Oyo State Commissioner ‘Kehinde Ayoola’ Is Dead

The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources in Oyo state, Kehinde Ayoola has died which was disclosed by Seyi Makinde. Ayoola fell ill two weeks ago and was on admission at a private hospital around Iyaganku, Ibadan where he died today May 14. Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde in new tweet said 2 coronavirus Patients have escaped from Oyo Isolation centre . He wrote; " The results of five suspected cases came back POSITIVE on 05/05/2020. Four of these five cases are travellers from the Northern part of Nigeria and the last one is an Oyo State resident.
