There is a report of a woman who was arrested for throwing her boyfriend’s mother’s ashes in the lake. The news has sparked reactions on social media.

“A Fort Worth woman has been charged with abuse of a corpse after throwing her boyfriend’s mother’s ashes into Lake Worth, police said. According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the suspect, 40-year-old Augustine Gladney, threw the ashes belonging to 38-year-old Ernest Smith’s mother into the lake on Monday evening.

“Police said Smith informed officers that when he returned home on Monday shortly after 7 p.m., he discovered that his mother’s urn was missing. Smith told officers that he overheard a phone conversation between Gladney and her daughter, who was at their home at the time, police said.

According to police, Smith heard Gladney tell her daughter over the phone that she threw the urn in the lake. Smith stated that Gladney texted him admitting that she had thrown his mother’s ashes in the lake, police said. According to police, Gladney was charged with abuse of a corpse on Wednesdaymother’s ashes in the lake, police said. According to police, Gladney was charged with abuse of a corpse on Wednesday.”

The news which was reported by KXAS-TV Television on May 6th is now trending on social media after a viral Tikok video of a lady tossing her boyfriend’s mother ashes in lake.

However, it was revealed that the story was true, the TikTok was not. It was a joke. The women are two different people.

Abuse of a corpse charge; “A person is guilty of abuse of corpse if he intentionally and unlawfully disinters, digs up, removes, conceals, mutilates or destroys a human corpse, or any part or the ashes thereof. ” According to Maine State Legislature.
