A boy has been charged with first-degree murder and robbery in the shooting death and robbery of an 18-year-old.

15-year-old Caleb Hamer has been charged with the crime. According to Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich.

Hamer shot and killed Joseph Boose, 18, in April at a home on Forest Brooke Drive in southwest Memphis, according to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office.

Weirich’s office said that investigators made the scene at that house and said that Hamer admitted to shooting Boose while still holding the gun. FOX13 reported.

Boose was rushed to the hospital but died of the gunshot wound to his chest, according to the Shelby County district attorney.

The investigators determined that Hamer stole the gun, as well as Boose’s debit card, from the house where the 18-year-old was killed.

Hamer, who was 14 at the time of the shooting, is charged with first-degree felony murder, especially aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and theft under $1,000.
