Phillip Mitchell Jr: Teen Found Dead with Gunshot Wound in Greater Grand Crossing
Authorities have identified the teenager who was found fatally shot in Greater Grand Crossing as Phillip Mitchell.
On Wednesday evening, police responded to a gunshot detection alert at approximately 5:41 p.m. in the 7100-block of South King Drive, where they discovered a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the head.
The boy, later identified by the medical examiner as Phillip Mitchell, was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A person of interest has been taken into custody, but no further details have been released as area detectives continue their investigation.
