England starting XI at 2022 World Cup

The 2022 World Cup is just a few months away and here is what Gareth Southgate’s possible England starting XI would look like.

With players available in bulk at almost every position, it wouldn’t be an easy task to pick a permanent first XI starter, as a team is likely to be rotated often.

So far, we can say the only player sure of his position is skipper, Harry Kane. Competition in the top 9 positions is not as hectic as it is in other positions.

Kane would only get a little pressured from AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham.

Every other position in the team looks stuffed starting with the goalkeepers. Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale, Nick Pope, Dean Henderson, Sam Johnstone, etc are all top qualities and have shown they are in fine form.

England’s defense is likely to be the position with many talents, leaving the coach confused about a perfect choice, especially the left-back position.

Players like John Stones, Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell Reece James, Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier, Joe Gomez, Luke Shaw, Ben White, Fikayo Tomori, Marc Guehi, Conor Coady, Tyrone Mings, Tyrick Mitchell, James Justin, etc are all in good shape, position and ready to give their all.

The midfielders, Declan Rice, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips, Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, James Ward-Prowse, Conor Gallagher, Emile Smith Rowe, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, Jesse Lingard, etc are in fine form and ready to give all they have.

Joining Harry Kane in the attack are, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Jarrod Bowen, Tammy Abraham, Ivan Toney, Ollie Watkins, Callum Wilson, etc.

Gareth Southgate is yet to name his final squad for the world’s most watched event.

With England’s eyes on the trophy here is a likely starting XI at the World Cup.

Goalkeeper: Aaron Ramsdale

Defenders: Ben Chilwell, John Stones, Eric Dier, Reece James.

Midfielders: Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount.

Attackers: Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, Phil Foden.
