Daddy Yankee had won several awards, 184 awards out of 484 nominations as of March 2022. He is the recipient of five Latin Grammy Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, 14 Billboard Latin Music Awards, two Latin American Music Awards, eight Lo Nuestro Awards, an MTV Video Music Award, and six ASCAP Awards.

He was also honored with a star on the Puerto Rican Walk of Fame, special prizes from People en Espaol magazine, and the Presencia Latina at Harvard University.

CNN named him the “Most Influential Hispanic Artist” in 2009, and he was included in the Time 100 in 2006.

On March 21, 2022, Daddy Yankee confirmed the release date of his seventh studio album Legendaddy, which would be released on March 24, 2022, along with an accompanying tour that will span from August through December.

He also declared that he will be retiring from music when the tour was completed.
