Michael Montgomery: Boy, 17, dies after Shot In Leg In South Chicago

17-year-old Michael Montgomery who was wounded in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in South Chicago has died.

Michael was standing on a sidewalk about 12:26 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Manistee Avenue when two males fired shots in his direction, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

According to authorities, the teen was struck in the leg and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Michael was pronounced dead at 4:14 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. He died of multiple gunshot wounds, an autopsy found.
