Having a pet and making sure it is well fed with the right food is one area most pet owners go through. If you have a pet frog you have to be careful about the type of food you feed it for it to stay healthy.

You can not feed a frog with vegetables or fruits because they are carnivores. However, you can feed your pet frog with grasshoppers, locusts, earthworms, and other insects.

Giving frogs fruits or vegetables could result in impaction. Impaction is a blockage in the intestine that, if left untreated, can result in death within a few days.

Adult frogs can go months without eating while hibernating. However, juvenile frogs can only survive for 1 to 3 days without food.
