Is Letmeone dot com a scam or a legit website?
Letmeone dot com is a newly registered domain name. The domain name does not represent a website. It is a domain name redirect that directs visitors to the Ashley Madison website.
As a result, if you type letmeone.com into your web browser, you will be directed to www.ashleymadison.com.
Letmeone dot com scam
Letmeone.com is nothing more than a domain name. It employs some sort of redirection script to direct all visitors to the parent company.
Before we proceed, it is essential to note that the link between this domain and Ashley Madison has not been confirmed by official sources. To find any additional information, we used the whois platform. We were disappointed to find no relevant data because the domain was registered in December 2022.
We also noticed that the Letmeone website is not indexed by Google.
What is Ashley Madison?
Ashley Madison, also known as The Ashley Madison Agency, is a Canadian online dating and social networking service aimed at married or in-relationship people.
Darren J. Morgenstern founded it in 2002 with the slogan “Life is brief. Have a relationship “. The name comes from two popular female names in North America, “Ashley” and “Madison”.
Ashley Madison Hacked
On July 15, 2015, hackers stole all of its customer data, including emails, names, home addresses, sexual fantasies, and credit card information. They threatened to publish it online if Ashley Madison and fellow Avid Life Media site Established Men were not permanently closed.
Hackers released the first set of customer names on July 22, with all user data released on August 18, 2015. On August 20, 2015, additional information (including some of the CEO’s emails) was made public.
Customers who had previously paid Ashley Madison a $19 fee to allegedly have their data deleted were included in the release.
The fee was also applied to people with accounts created against their will, as a workplace prank, or due to a mistyped email address.
Noel Biderman agreed to step down as CEO of Avid Life Media Inc. on August 28, 2015. According to a company statement, his departure was “in the best interests of the company.”
Malware Scam
The Letmeone.com scam can infect your system with malware and attempt to steal your personal information.
Malware is a common online threat, including on dating websites. A match on Tinder, for example, may have several exchanges with you before offering you additional information on their personal website or even fake Facebook or Instagram profiles.
These pages, however, are not legitimate. Instead, you’re being directed to a website that contains malware and spam that scammers can use to steal your personal information, leading to identity theft and financial fraud.
In general, anyone on an online dating site who is eager to direct you to another site should be regarded as a potential red flag.
How to avoid the Letmeone dot com scam
Anyone requesting a transfer from one site to another is clearly attempting to defraud you. You should report and block the user on the Tinder app or any other dating app.
